LIFETIME WARRANTY
Instinct jewellers provides a Lifetime Warranty for all Gold and Platinum jewellery against any manufacturing defects starting from the date of purchase. These defects refer to issues in the structure of the jewellery and are usually evident within the first few months of wearing. In the case of such defects, Instinct jewellers will either repair or replace the item at no cost to the customer, and also cover shipping and postage costs.
Examples of manufacturing defects covered under the Lifetime Warranty include:
- surface pores
- blemishes
- uneven settings
- scratches on stones
- stains on metal
If a customer believes their jewellery has a manufacturing issue, they can contact Instinct jewellers to arrange an evaluation.
- A $40 AUD two-way postage fee within Australia, or a $200 AUD two-way Fedex fee from outside Australia will be required as a deposit if the customer is unable to visit the showroom. The deposit will not be refunded if the issue is not found to be a manufacturing defect.
Exclusions:
Wear and tear from normal use is not covered under the Lifetime Warranty, and examples of such damage include
- Dents, abrasions, and scratches on the settings due to the malleability of metals over time. We recommend getting a yearly jewelry assessment to ensure stone settings are secure, followed by a professional clean and polish for a refreshed look.
- Chips, scratches, nicks, and breakages on gemstones from wear and tear or accidents. Even the hardest gemstones like diamonds and Moissanite can chip or crack if hit at a certain angle. Gemstones with exposed edges in prong settings are more susceptible to damage.
- Pits and holes in the setting caused by exposure to corrosive chemicals like chlorine bleach or heavy cleaning products.
- Discoloration of precious metals from chemicals, makeup, or exposure to chlorine in pools, hot tubs, or bathing.
- Wear and tear on precious metals, especially claws and bands, which may require restoration over time.
- Prongs that get caught, bent, or worn down from everyday wear and tear, leading to the loss of a stone.
Regular jewellery assessments are recommended to ensure the stone settings are secure, and it is advised to remove jewellery before any hands-on or sporting activities, gym or heavy housework.
It is important to note that repairs or services performed by any jeweller other than Instinct jewellers will void the Lifetime Warranty. The warranty is valid only with proof of purchase and if the jewellery has not been altered in any way.
Free resizing
Our free resizing service is available on all engagement ring purchases and is valid for 90 days from date of delivery, and is only available for resizing up or down 2 sizes.
Any ring needing sizing more than 2 sizes may need to be remade depending on the band setting, this is a case by case scenario.
